Nominations open for inaugural HEADS Up Awards

  • Patients, carers and front line staff have the opportunity to recognise digital services, assistive technologies and devices that have made a positive difference to their care or the care of others in the inaugural HEADS Up Awards.
  • The awards, which stand for helpful, easy-to-use and accessible digital services, celebrate outstanding digital health services and products from the point of view of those who use them, shining a light on the principles of usability, accessibility and personalisation.
  • The top five nominations in each category will then be put to a public vote in April and the awards will be presented at UK e-Health Week in May.

LONDON, UK - (HealthTech Wire / News) — Patients, carers and front line staff have the opportunity to recognise digital services, assistive technologies and devices that have made a positive difference to their care or the care of others in the inaugural HEADS Up Awards.

The awards, which stand for helpful, easy-to-use and accessible digital services, celebrate outstanding digital health services and products from the point of view of those who use them, shining a light on the principles of usability, accessibility and personalisation.

The awards are jointly run by BCS – the Chartered Institute of IT, the Academy of Fabulous Stuff, and HIMSS UK. They will be presented at UK e-Health Week 2017 on 3 – 4 May at Olympia, London.  

The categories

The award categories are split into groups that use health IT. People can nominate digital services, assistive technologies and devises that have made a positive difference to:

  • Patients and service users 
  • Carers
  • Healthcare staff – clinicians and clinical teams working within the NHS
  • Social care - care assistants and social care staff working within the independent and charitable care sector, and in local authorities. 

Nominate

Nominations can be made using the online forms below. Please ensure you complete all the relevant sections and provide evidence, examples and any other information that illustrates why your nomination should be considered. Nominations will close on 24 March.

The top five nominations in each category will then be put to a public vote in April and the awards will be presented at UK e-Health Week in May
